have you tried playing into conventional mic patched into a multi-effects processor, then looped thru a decent tube mic pre-amp for added 'oomph' (for smaller amps). you might be able to achieve any 'virtual' guitar tone or synth tone by doing this. both tube-pre and efx can be obtained for a relatively cheap price, but it shouldn't cost anything to have them rig this set-up for you at your local guitar/amplifier sales outlet. who knows, maybe you'll buy something. gene
