Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. I am in an Americana Band called "The Anvil Blasters" headquartered in the Bend, Oregon USA area. I play harmonica and percussion. I'd like to add a "real" jews harp to my axes to replace the piece of junk "Snoopy" I bought years ago. I can play my Snoopy pretty well but hate it's tone and lack of volume. I would appreciate some suggestions as to who makes good a quality JH that will sound good in an acoustic ensemble. Though not overly experienced, I do not want another toy and need an instrument I can grow into. I will be playing into a mic on a stand, mostly as rhythmic background with the occasional lead. I read that Zoltan Szilagyi's Black Fire harps are very good but frankly, as I research the topic I am getting a little overwhelmed by the number of makers and and all the different styles. I will most likely buy one in the key of "D" to accompany three songs that we already perform. Any suggestions would be most appreciated especially from JH easily purchased in this country. thx!
